The Luther Trail in Saxony is a circular hiking and pilgrimage trail over 550 kilometres long that connects places of major significance to the Reformation and leads through some of the most charming landscapes of the Free State. Across 29 stages of varying lengths and levels of difficulty, the route takes you to the most important residences and places of activity of Martin Luther and his companions. Access paths and connections to numerous hiking and cycling routes allow for flexible entry points to the Luther Trail in Saxony.

Along the way, the landscape is shaped by gentle hills in the foothills of the Ore Mountains, wide fields in the Leipzig region, the river meadows of the Zschopau and the Mulde, as well as forests and orchards. Castles, palaces, monasteries, and churches line the trail and remain vivid testimonies of encounters, faith, and the ideas of the Reformation to this day.
