This route leads through the beautiful Zschopau valley, through bird sanctuaries directly along the Zschopau river. In addition to beautiful viewpoints, hikers can expect to see Wilhelminian-style architecture, railroad viaducts and a former monastery.

After crossing under the bridge of the B175 federal highway behind Döbeln, the trail leads along hiking trails across forest and meadow sections through the countryside again. From Limmritz, the route runs directly along the river through the beautiful landscape of the Zschopau valley. In addition to initially flat stretches, the route becomes more hilly towards Waldheim and the hiker has to master uphill and downhill sections. They are rewarded with magnificent views over the landscape. The town of Waldheim, richly endowed with Wilhelminian architecture, bears the title "Pearl of the Zschopau Valley". An Augustinian monastery was located here from the beginning of the 15th century. Luther was responsible for this monastery as an Augustinian monk before the Reformation. When the monastery was voluntarily handed over to the lord of Kriebstein Castle, Georg von Carlowitz, the Reformation was also completed in Waldheim. Today, the building is used as a prison.
