One should not leave Wurzen without visiting the museum with the collection of books, pictures, and personal belongings of the poet, painter, and cabaret artist Joachim Ringelnatz, born in the town, the Ringelnatz Fountain, and his birthplace. The route from Wurzen to Trebsen is easily walkable, mostly consisting of cycle paths. The path runs almost exclusively along the river "Mulde" and offers a magnificent view thanks to the panorama of the towns. Trebsen is 850 years old and Wurzen has been a cathedral city for over 900 years, so hikers can expect wonderful old towns, beautiful churches, and parks at each. Both towns also have a medieval castle. In Nitzschka, just behind Wurzen, one can visit a manor house. The Reformation is especially connected with the castle family von Minckwitz in Trebsen, which in 1521 brought the first evangelical pastor to the town.
