Kriebstein Castle - Saxony's most beautiful knight's castle

The most beautiful knight's castle in Saxony rises on a steep rock in Central Saxony: Kriebstein Castle. Dietrich von Beerwalde had it built over 600 years ago. The monumental residential tower with its late medieval oriel turrets and ridge turret is the highlight of the castle. Late Gothic murals can be found in the Kriebsteinzimmer and the castle chapel. In the treasure vault, guests can also discover parts of the treasure that was hidden in the chimney until 1986.

Many events such as the medieval festival, the "Castle of Fairy Tales", concerts, knights' dinners and mysterious guided tours ensure a unique experience. Film producers also fall for the charm of Kriebstein Castle: it can be seen, for example, in "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and the fairytale films "Snow White" and "The Sweet Porridge".

Interactive chase for the whole family

An interactive scavenger hunt through the medieval walls awaits guests at Kriebstein Castle. As a witness to a mysterious clock theft, you can take on the role of the investigators. In groups of two to four, you can puzzle your way from the treasure vault through the various rooms of the castle to the armory. During the 60 to 90 minutes of the game, a tablet is always available while you are accompanied through the walls by the castle ghost.

With the "Schlösserland erleben" app, guests can embark on an interactive multimedia tour. In it, the maid Hermine tells exciting stories and little secrets of the former castle residents. The Schlösserland app also guarantees a special excursion experience with culinary insider tips, cycling and hiking tours or the best photo spots. The app can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple App Store or Google Playstore.

With the schlösserlandKARTE, guests can visit Saxony's most beautiful palaces, castles and gardens at their leisure. And the best thing is: you save money. All exhibitions are free with the schlösserlandKARTE. Two children up to the age of 16 accompany the cardholder free of charge. Did you know? The schlösserlandKARTE can also be conveniently purchased digitally via the "Schlösserland erleben" app. This means you always have your personal admission ticket with you on your smartphone.
