Düben Castle with the Landscape Museum
Eleven newly designed rooms in the permanent exhibition offer a glimpse into the cultural landscape of the Dübener Heide, shaped by human activity. The town’s history features topics such as health resorts and military units, as well as the restored interior of the Schultze drugstore (1816–1984) on the market square. The castle tower offers a panoramic view and interesting facts about the history of Hans Kohlhase. The castle, with its “Lug ins Land” observation tower and the castle guardhouse, served to monitor and protect the old trade route at the Mulde River crossing. The Bergschiffmühle mill is located in the former moat. The Napoleon Stone and a plaque on the castle tower commemorate Napoleon’s presence.
