The Katharina-Luther-Stube is part of the Torgau Museum Trail, which preserves particularly valuable buildings and makes them accessible to the public.
Torgau was of great importance to Katharina von Bora in two ways. Her bourgeois life began here after her escape from the convent. A good 30 years later, her life ended here. The house where she died is located at Katharinenstraße 11, where the only memorial in Germany has been set up in her honor. The exhibition in the pretty Renaissance house tells the story of her eventful life at the side of the world-famous reformer in biographical highlights and commemorates this remarkable woman and strong personality.
