Löbnitz
The municipality of Löbnitz is a charming rural community located in a scenic setting. At the beginning of the Düben Heath, Löbnitz is surrounded by the Mulde floodplain and Lake Seelhausen. Here you can explore nature on the designated circular trails along the Great Goitzsche Lake and Seelhausen Lake as well as on the Mulde cycle path.
The historical highlights in Löbnitz are best discovered on the Mill Hiking Trail and the Luther Trail. These include the first mention of Löbnitz back in 981 and the work of the reformer Martin Luther in the local former castle of the von Schönefeldt family. Löbnitz also has a Protestant church with a 250-panel Bible picture ceiling that is unique in Central Germany.
