In the district of Zwickau, the Lutherweg runs from Wolkenburg via Zwickau to Crimmitschau. The Lutherweg connects nature, history, and city life in a varied way. From Wolkenburg to Zwickau, it follows the course of the Mulde river and is largely identical with the Mulde bike path. In the further course, there are some difficult sections where the bike must be pushed. However, this does not detract from the experience.

Directions
Here it goes through the town, past the train station, then through the Gründelpark and past the Glauchau reservoir before crossing the Mulde in Wernsdorf. The Lutherweg then reaches Zwickau with its St. Mary's Cathedral and the Luther Church.
The path then winds along the Marienthaler Bach through Zwickau before making a steep ascent towards the Zwickau forest park. This park is traversed to reach Hartmannsdorf and Dänkritz. In Dänkritz, the route enters the Dänkritz forest. Past the picturesque Lauenhainer Church, the path leads through quiet woods and wide fields before offering a beautiful first view of Crimmitschau in the Zöffelpark – a small natural paradise on the outskirts of town. From here it continues towards the city center. Along the way, you will encounter the historic Crimmitschau train station, which is currently being extensively renovated, before reaching the town center with its market, town hall, and theater.
The route then leads through the green park at Bismarckhain, across Zeitzer Straße into the extensive Sahnpark, the largest recreational area in the city. Here, a detour to the artificial ice rink, home of the Eispiraten Crimmitschau, as well as to the cozy forest house with a place to eat, is worthwhile. Directly opposite, the idyllic gondola pond invites to boat rides in the summer months. The Sahnbad swimming pool, which offers the largest water surface in western Saxony, is also on the route and offers refreshing swimming fun from the end of May to the end of August. At the edge of the park, the Lutherweg continues towards Leipziger Straße, past the impressive Gebr. Pfau textile factory – an important monument to Crimmitschau's industrial history. After a short stretch along Damm- and Uferstraße, you reach the district Frankenhausen. Along the Hofteich pond, you finally reach the historic Frankenhausen monastery, whose history dates back to 1292.
After a final stretch along Mittelmühlstraße, the route ends at the border to Ponitz – and thus at the state border to Thuringia.
