As part of the STADTRADELN campaign and the SPORTS UNITED/SPORTY event, the 2nd star ride Chemnitz will take place on September 6, 2025 – a special highlight for all cycling enthusiasts from Chemnitz and the cultural capital region. Groups from the entire region set off on 13 different routes to gather at the Karl-Marx-Monument. From there – accompanied by the police – they ride together to the stadium at Gellertstraße, where the cyclists receive a fitting welcome.
One of the 13 star ride routes starts in Rochlitz and leads via Wechselburg and Claußnitz to the city center of Chemnitz. At all three stations, cyclists have the opportunity to join along the way and become part of the joint ride. The return journey is organized individually by the participants.
Route schedule:
10:00 am start in Rochlitz, city sign behind the town hall in Frongasse
Intermediate stop: Wechselburg, cycle path church, opportunity to rest and information about the St. Ottokirche
11:00 am start in Wechselburg, market
Short stop at Wechselburg town hall and the Wechselburg PURPLE PATH artwork, then continued ride to Claußnitz
Intermediate stop: playground and fitness parcours at the Alte Mühle Markersdorf in Claußnitz (near the Museumsbahnhof Markersdorf-Taura)
12:45 pm start in Claußnitz from the playground and fitness parcours
Around 2:00 pm: arrival in Chemnitz at the Karl-Marx-Monument and further individual participation options in the STADTRADELN ride
4:30 pm opportunity for a joint ride of all star ride participants from the Karl-Marx-Monument to the stadium at Gellertstraße
