After Penig, an underpass crosses the A72 highway. The Luther Trail continues along the river to Zinnberg, where it crosses the Mulde and leads to the village of Thierbach. From the hydroelectric power station there, the trail continues in a southerly direction along the banks of the Mulde to Wolkenburg. At Mühlenstraße, the Luther Trail leaves the Mulde Valley Hiking Trail and leads over the Schlossberg up to Wolkenburg Castle.
